The storms of life have so affected the psyche of man that pessimism has become a way of life for him. To be optimistic requires much
effort because his mind gets into a tug-o-war with any belief that contradicts
his pessimistic viewpoint. His pessimism is reinforced with every challenging
situation that comes his way and has etched deep negative thought-patterns in
his sub-conscious. Because of this, any healthful thought is considered as an
intruder and is ousted with immediate effect.
What man has yet to realize is that he does not have
to live as a victim to his pessimism, that he can challenge his dark thoughts
and replace them with the positive ones. He has yet to come to terms with the
truth that as a child of God, he has immense potential to rise out of his
miserable, limited mind-set and to use his inner powers to transform his life
to that of peace and prosperity.
What then is the key to optimism? The answer is quite
simple – spiritual awareness. Ignorance is nothing but darkness of the mind
that brings with it fears and hopelessness. In such a state a person is not
enable to think for himself but takes refuge in the haven of his past
experiences whereby he is pulled into even deeper sorrows. Hopelessness spreads
gloom in their hearts that prevents them from perceiving opportunities that
chance upon them. He no longer believes in miracles or God’s Grace, and with
that he succumbs to his miserable fate.
God never closes a door without opening another; this
is the Universal Law. There are millions of doors – more doors than you can
possibly imagine. Each time one door closes on you, look out for another which
has opened. You need to be ever alert and on the look-out for fresh opportunities.
This is what optimism is all about – to not brood over something that no longer
serves you but to look for brighter prospects. The opportunities are endless;
the Universe knows no dearth; it is always abounding with the richest treasures
that man can ever possess. Know that God works in mysterious ways, and that His
way is always perfect. Your mantra to accepting all situations in peace should
be: “Not my will, not my will, not my will but Thine be done!” Chant, recite,
sing and shout this mantra all the time, and be on the go eternally
irrespective whether you are living in this world or the next. Life is eternal
– a continuous process.
You must move onwards never looking back. Have the Light always ahead of you and walk in its golden ray. In God’s Light you will only experience miracles. Disappointments and sadness are only the states of the mind that is closed to the Light – a mind that chooses to live in the limitations of the lower self thus cutting itself out of all that signifies the glory of God. If you understood that dejection and sorrows exist only in the mind and not in any given situation, you will be able to accept all kinds of situations in peace. This then leaves you free to move on in life with great cheer. Life applauds those who choose to live with a cheerful disposition in the face of their trials and tribulations for these are the players who are the true winners in this game of life.
