When you relive your past with all its
unwanted baggage, you are working with the negative energies, and this energy
is not released as long as you cling to it. You thus create more like
situations in your life. The energy is dissipated only when you do not feed it
anymore with your thoughts and memories. You must invest your energy in
creating abundance and healthful situations in your life instead of wasting it
away on dwelling on negative situations of the bygone days. All the time people
are living with so much anger and frustration. This is because they do not want
to let go of all the negativity. They cling to their life-situations as if
their life depends on them. They do not want to give time a chance to work on
them. Thus they create more such situations that continue to feed their anger
and frustrations.
Nothing that happens in life is worth
clinging to for all these are situations that come in your life as chapters of
learning for the sake of your spiritual growth, and it is foolish to cling to
these for this does not serve any purpose. You have to learn from your
experiences and move on, taking only the essence of it as they come along. The
soul requires all kinds of experiences for its growth. These experiences are
not meant to break you but to make you whole. However, this higher
understanding comes only with self-realisation. Most people are living at the
mercy of their circumstances, and think that they can do nothing to save
themselves from the external world. They think that they are at the mercy of
the external world, and this is not right.
Each man has the power to have control
over his life and the situations. You must live as a master and not as a slave.
Man has unwittingly given away his power to the forces of the world and that is
why he feels so helpless, vulnerable and small before all life-situations. He
depends on the external world to bring him peace and happiness, but that can
never be as long as he chooses to live like a slave. He has to look within and
reclaim his power. Only then can he find true happiness. Peace and happiness
are states of mind, and it is each one’s perspective of what peace and
happiness means to them. You may be
having everything in the world but if your perspective of peace lies in
materialism you will never find it – you will never be at peace within. There
are many who do not have all that they want, yet at heart they are at peace
because they place their value on healthful things that bring them mental
peace. Greed and avarice cannot make one peaceful for these create in you an
insatiable desire for more so no matter how much you may have, you will
continue to crave for more.
