When
you are in the act of worshipping God or a deity, you are placing yourself in
surrender before the object of devotion. Prayers and mantras are chanted with
the intention to invoke God’s blessings upon you and your family. However,
worship is not just restricted to God and the deities, for you may have heard
that work is worship. This means that you can spiritualise your work by placing
yourself before it and performing the task with the fullness of your heart –
with faith, love and dedication, just as much as you would, when offering your
prayers to God. The solemnity that goes in praying to God should be included in
your work as well.
Shirking
your work or doing it half-heartedly means that you are making a mockery of
your work; it is demoralizing to your spirit. The work then does not favour you
in achieving success or satisfaction. You are then responsible for all kinds of
failures in life. It is even worse when you cheat on your work for which you
are being paid. It is a double mockery – of work as well as of the energy of
abundance that you earn for the work that you do.
The
more honest and sincere you are in your work, irrespective of whether you are
acknowledged for your sincerity or not, the more you will stand to gain in
life. When you spiritualise your work, be it a paid job or some household task
or service of some charitable kind – any action that involves the purity of the
heart and mind – the divine forces are happy to work with you. You are blessed
and your life is blessed.
